AB Reed had a tee time with Jesus and checked into the heavenly clubhouse on March 21, 2021. He was 98 years young. His caddie of 70 years: Cathy Reed met him at the first tee box asking, "What took you so long?" \n\nHe is survived by his children: Ben (Jacqui) Reed, Rebekah (Mike) Fitzpatrick, Dennis (Jessie) Reed, and Leeann (Rick) Hoffman. Also survived by grandchildren: Jennessa (Sean) Borman, Chris (Gracie) Reed, Joe (Kellin) Fitzpatrick, Erin (Kyle) Stillwagon, Rachel (Mike) Cox, Kelly Harrelson (Evan) Berberich, Kyle Fittinger, and Kate Reed. Also, four great-grandchildren: Ryan, Carter, Grayson, and Genevive. \n\nHe is preceded by his parents, Joe Oliver and Annie, brothers and sisters: Howard, Dick, Harvey, Robert, Fred, William, Mary, Lula, Geney, Della and several nieces and nephews.\n\nAB had a long career with Standard Oil of Indiana, now BP oil. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, a good joke, watching and coaching his children and grandchildren in all manner of sports, boy scouts, a hot cup of coffee and giving an encouraging word to others.\n\nAB was a WWII veteran, serving in the US Navy in the South Pacific and was the first in his family to earn a college degree. He was a member of Sublette Southern Baptist Church since 1972 and a member of the American Legion in Sublette.\n\nThere will be a joint celebration of life for AB and Cathy Reed at the Sublette Southern Baptist Church on March 26, at 10am. \n\nMemorial contributions can be made to Lee Richardson Zoo or the Sublette Recreation Commission in care of Weeks Family Funeral Home & Crematory, PO Box 1200, Sublette, Ks 67877.
