Adela Badillo Cruz Obituary (1950 - 2023)

Surrounded by her family, Adela Badillo Cruz, 72, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023 at her home in Hugoton, Kansas. She was born on November 18, 1950 to Remedios (Labrada) and Jose Guadalupe Cruz in Jocoqui, Mexico. She married Jose Luis Badillo in 1967. Adela enjoyed cooking meals for her family and sharing her history with them. She had a green thumb and was continually adding to her collection of plants. With her pet birds and grandchildren as her audience, Adela often could be heard singing while working around the house. Adela was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother with a deep faith in Christ that she shared with her family. She is survived by her husband Jose Badillo of the home; daughters, Martha Patricia of Hugoton, KS, Gabriela Muñoz and husband Pedro of Hugoton, KS, and Rosa Maria of Celaya, Mexico; sons, Jose L. Badillo and wife Guillermina of Hugoton, KS, Rene Badillo of Celaya, Mexico, and Carlos Badillo and wife Angelica of Hugoton, KS; 17 grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Remedios Cruz. There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at Monte Santo Church to honor her memory. Weeks Family Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
