Billie Ray Robinson, 85, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, January 18, 2021 at Rice County Hospital in Lyons, Kansas. He was born on August 1, 1935 to Flossie Bernice (Brandonberg) and John Everett Robinson in Casey, Illinois. On December 18, 1950 he married Shirley Eileen (Casolari) in Flora, Illinois and together they started their family with daughter, Shirley, followed by Barbara, Robert, Sandy, Debby, Billie Jr, and Linda. On October 24, 1954 Billie enlisted to serve his country in the United States Army. In 1969, he and Shirley divorced. Billie married LaDonna Kay (Brooks) in Perryton, Texas on May 13, 1971 and with this union gained two step-sons; Jerry and Jack Green.\n\nBillie came to Satanta, Kansas to work for his dad's custom cutting business during the summer and was known to treat the crew to a fish fry when they weren't harvesting. In the winter months he began working as a carpenter, which eventually became his full time job until retirement. When not working, Billie liked to fish and could be found enjoying a game of golf. He was a loyal fan of Kansas Jayhawk basketball, often watching games with family. \n\nHe is survived by his wife of nearly fifty years, LaDonna Robinson of Lyons, KS; a son, Robert "Rob" Robinson and wife Jeanne of Satanta, KS; daughters, Shirley Musgrave of Springfield, IL, Sandy Homer and husband Tom of Naperville, IL, Debby Bartlett of Olathe, KS. and Linda Pardo-Robinson and husband Brian Pardo Of Waco, TX; step-sons, Jerry Green and wife Adelina of Satanta, KS and Jack Green of Cheyenne, WY; twenty-five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.\n\nHe is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Billie Robinson, Jr.; a daughter, Barbara Bond; brother, Bob Robinson, and sisters, Virginia Schlicher, Jean Pittman, and Vicki Robinson.\n\nCremation was entrusted to Weeks Family Funeral Home & Crematory of Sublette.
