Eldean Lois Mings (Shearer)

–

Englewood, Kansas

Eldean Lois (Shearer) Mings, age 84, passed away early Friday morning on July 8, 2016, at Via Christi in Wichita, Kansas. She was born on July 4, 1932, to Alpha Marie (Pelzer) and Clarence Harold Shearer in Griswold, Iowa. She married Alvie Mings on February 25, 1950, in Elliott, Iowa. Eldean's youngest daughter, Ranae recently posted the following on Facebook. "I think my mom is like no other, she has talent that's unbelievable. I've seen her sew, remodel the house, bail hay, replace windows, upholster furniture, work on tractors, give to the poor her last dime, served on many boards and was the Mayor of her little city, raised money for community projects, raised other people's kids, made me a prom dress just by my description of what I wanted, I think she even welded once! Never did she say she couldn't or complain about doing it! She has always been able to tell you anyone's birthday in our whole big family. Wow what a lady... She loves so deeply, forgives so easily and gave so effortlessly!" Eldean was saved and later baptized in the Englewood City pool at 81 years of age.
