Florentin Jucan, 69, passed away Friday, February 26, 2021 at his home in Sublette, Kansas. He was born February 7, 1952 to Florentina (Oshorhean) and Aurel Jucan in Bucharest, Romania. He attended the University of Bucharest, graduating with a Masters Degree in Agricultural Engineering in 1978. Florentin married Anca Cezarina Iuga in Bucharest on January 7, 1978. To this union, two children were born: Ruxandra and Dan. \n\nFlorentin was a proud and loving husband and father that did everything possible for his family. To ensure a bright future for their children, Florentin and Anca immigrated to the United States from Romania in 1991 in pursuit of the American dream. They lived in many places and worked many different jobs across the country before settling in Sublette. Florentin was a construction contractor in the Sublette area for many years, and he was adored by the community. \n\nHe loved music, he loved helping people, and he was a great storyteller, particularly reminiscing of adventures in his younger days in Romania as an Agricultural Engineer. Florentin enjoyed spending time with his children and his grandchildren as clearly shown by his infectious smile. He enjoyed his work and particularly enjoyed sharing his gifts in the construction trades with those interested in learning. \n\nHe is survived by his wife, Anca Jucan, of the home; a daughter, Ruxandra Jucan and husband, Aaron Zook, of Pratt, KS; a son, Dan and wife, Whitney, of North Richland Hills, TX; and three grandchildren, Conner, Parker and Elizabeth. \n\nHe was preceded in death by his parents.\n\nIn lieu of flowers the family asked that memorial contributions be made payable to the Sublette United Methodist Church, in care of Weeks Family Funeral Home & Crematory, PO Box 1200, Sublette, Ks 67877.
