Geronimo Cordova

Geronimo Miguel “Jerry” Cordova, 74, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado. He was born on August 20, 1948 to Lucinda J. (Fuentes) and Ignacio Nash Cordova in Tucumcari, New Mexico. He was married to Linda (Stebbens) Cordova; she preceded him in death.

Jerry loved God and read his bible in both English and Spanish. He enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren; they called him Amigo. He prayed through 3 a.m. perpetual adoration time for years at St. Anthony’s parish. He enjoyed tennis, photography, and the law. He was an accomplished concrete finisher.

He is survived by his daughter, Tara Cordova of Liberal, KS, sons, Ignacio Cordova and Allie of Liberal, KS, and Dan Franz of Grove, OK; step-daughters, Tai Sealey and husband Ashly Crowder of Liberal, KS; grandchildren, Wiley Stanfill, Trathen Stanfill, Paige Stanfill, Cecelia Cordova, Aaron Cordova, Justin and Anna Barrett of Guymon, OK, Brady Barrett, Taryn Franz, and Tyson Franz; great-grandchildren, Marilyn Stanfill, Jax, Aylin and Rynlee Barrett; brothers, Henry Cordova and wife Bertha of San Antonio, TX, and Stanley Cordova of Liberal, KS; and sisters, Theresa Heger of Hugoton, KS, June Christy and husband Daryl of Liberal, KS, and Patricia Bedford of Liberal, KS.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Cordova; parents, Ignacio and Lucinda Cordova; and a brother, Gilbert Cordova.

Rosary will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 2, followed by Holy Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Liberal, Kansas. Cremation will follow the service.
