Marjorie Darlene Hammer, 86, made her journey to Heaven on Monday, March 8, 2021 at Satanta District Hospital. She was born on July 3, 1934 in Galatea, Colorado to Vivian Lucille (Holcomb) and George Franklin Bickel. She married Jay Hammer on January 18, 1951 in Las Vegas, New Mexico.\n\nPlaying Bridge would bring an opportunity for Darlene and Jay to socialize with neighbors and friends. Later in life this card game would continue to bring her great joy playing with her favorite girlfriends. She bowled on a league with friends for many years. She was an active part of the Sublette Christian Church.\n\nDarlene was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She spent countless hours on the roads travelling to ballgames and school activities, smiling and enjoying every moment. Darlene cherished spending time with her family. She will be missed by her friends, family, and community. \n\nShe is survived by her loving children, Rhonda Hoffman and husband Randy of Liberal, KS; Dottie Ardery and husband Ross of Copeland, KS; Steve Hammer and wife DeAnn of Sublette, KS; and Susie Robins and husband Dave of Wichita, KS; 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marteal Johnson of Grand Junction, CO; and a brother, Ronald Bickel and wife Nadine of Keller, TX.\n\nShe is preceded in death by her husband Jay Hammer; a great-grandson, Vance Hoffman; her parents, George and Lucille Bickel; sisters, Norma Jean Deinlein, MaDonna Osolin, and Shirley Wissel; and brother-in-laws, Bill Deinlein, and Paul Johnson.\n\nVisitation will be from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at the Weeks Family Funeral Home & Crematory.\n\nFuneral Service will be 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Sublette Christian Church, with Chet Wiswell officiating.
