Martha Catherine "Cathy" O'Donnell Reed went to see Jesus on a Friday morning, June 26, 2020. Cathy had just celebrated her 92nd birthday on the first of March. Her favorite pastime was spending time with and taking care of her husband, A B, for 70+ years.\n\nMany people knew her as Mrs. Reed, as she was a teacher in Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas. She graduated from East Central State Teachers College with a Home Economics major and English minor. She wanted everyone to have a better chance at life through a good education and was passionate about teaching. She taught English as a Second Language after she retired and cared deeply about everyone she had the opportunity to know.\n\nShe loved to travel and had opportunity to visit most of the states in our great nation. She loved going to the ocean and walking on the beach, picking up shells and shark teeth as she walked. Her hobbies were reading, gardening, pulling weeds "for relaxation," making plum jelly, crocheting, sewing for her family and friends, and perusing every aisle at Wal-Mart. She loved listening to Celtic music and hymns, and playing piano. She was committed to making sure she read the entire Bible every year. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved to take her grandchildren to the Lee Richardson Zoo in Garden City, KS, museums in every town they visited, as well as any other place where they might have fun and learn something. She was a member of Sublette First Baptist Church since 1972, when the family moved to Sublette, KS. (Go Larks!) She was preceded in death by her sister Elease Cook, and her parents Omer and Birdie Lee O'Donnell.\n\nCathy is survived by her husband A B; children Ben Reed and wife Jacqulin, Rebekah Fitzpatrick and husband Mike, Dennis Reed and wife Jessie, Leeann Harrelson and husband Rick Hoffman; grandchildren Jennessa Borman and husband Sean, Chris Reed and wife Gracie, Joe Fitzpatrick and wife Kellin, Erin Stillwagon and husband Kyle, Rachel Cox and husband Mike, Kelly Harrelson and husband Evan Berberich, Kyle Fittinger, and Kate Reed; great-grandchildren Ryan Stillwagon, Carter Fitzpatrick, Grayson and Genevieve Reed; brother Mitchell O'Donnell and wife Mary and brother-in-law Bob Cook.\n\nPer her wishes, memorial services were to be postponed until she and A B could be celebrated together. Suggested memorial contributions are to the Lee Richardson Zoo in care of Weeks Family Funeral Home & Crematory, PO Box 1200, Sublette, KS 67877.
