Nalina Lareda (Parker) Hickman, 81, of Shawnee, KS, passed away on March 30, 2022.\nNalina was born May, 21, 1940, the daughter of Herman Augustus Parker and Lolitta Anna (York) Parker. \nNalina spent most of her childhood in Cisne, IL and later moved with her family to rural southwest Kansas, graduating from Satanta High School in 1958. She went on to earn an associate degree in accounting and worked as an accountant for Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line Company, where she made lifelong friendships.\n\nNalina married Loy Hickman on April 29, 1981. They were married for over 40 years and shared a love of corvettes and flying around the country together. \n\nNalina especially enjoyed reading, walking in nearby Shawnee Mission Park and shopping with her mother and sister. She will be remembered for her sharp wit, style, and love of her family.\n\nRemaining to cherish Nalina's memory are: husband, Loy Hickman of Shawnee, KS; sister, Novella Haddican of Satanta, KS; nephew Michael Haddican and wife Connie of Kansas City, KS; nephew Gregory Haddican of Plains, KS; great-niece Rebecca Haddican and husband Andrew Houston of Kansas City, MO; and great-nephew Zachary Haddican and wife Janeth of Plains, KS.\n\nPreceding her in death are her parents.\n\nA private family service will be held at Dudley Township Cemetery, Satanta, Kansas.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made payable to Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in care of Weeks Family Funeral Home & Crematory, PO Box 1200, Sublette, KS 67877.
